Welcome to an anniversary lecture with Enrico Ronchi Associate Professor, Division of Fire Safety Engineering, Lund University.
Fires and antagonistic threats are examples of scenarios that endanger people’s lives. What do we know about human behaviour in such situations? What research tools are available to study human response? How do different populations react to threatening scenarios?
This presentation introduces the field of human behaviour in emergencies and explores the research tools currently available to understand the human decision-making process. It highlights the role of digital technologies such as Virtual Reality and evacuation simulations and presents ongoing and future research activities at the Helsingborg Safety Hub. This includes the Egressibility project, a very large research project funded by the European Research Council which aims to promote equality in evacuation design and enhance safety and security for all.

Campus Helsingborg 25 years
2025 marks 25 years since Lund University established Campus Helsingborg, which today is home to 4000 students and 150 staff. The anniversary year will draw attention to both what has been, but also what awaits in the future. During the year, a number of activities and public events will be organised, such as the Perspective 25 lecture series. See more activities at www.ch.lu.se/jubileum
Perspective 25
During our 25th anniversary, we at Campus Helsingborg want to highlight the research and future issues that make a difference both locally and globally. Through a series of lectures spread throughout the year, researchers at Campus Helsingborg share their perspectives and insights on current research projects.
