Helsingborg Innovation District Hubs
Meet the Helsingborg Innovation District Hubs
The Helsingborg Innovation District branches out from physical hubs in a central location within Oceanhamnen, with each hub within walking distance of the others. The hubs showcase innovation-focused activities representing cross-collaborative partnerships between initiators, actors, and the local communities. These are creative, fast-paced environments where ingenuity, expertise, and real-world experience are freely shared to advance transformational global impact innovation.
Lund University Campus Helsingborg
Lund University Campus Helsingborg hosts students from undergraduate through to postgraduate studies. Through close collaboration between students, researchers, and the local business community, the university has become a multifaceted contributor to the region’s innovation network. Programmes in engineering, logistics, retail, communication, and social sciences correspond to the region’s focus areas. Highlighted in initiatives, the university has, among others, implemented REAL – Center for Retail and Logistics, focusing on collaboration and innovation in trade and logistics, and CROCUS Network, which aims for interdisciplinary collaborations and knowledge sharing focusing on the cultural and creative industries.
HETCH
HETCH is a tech-community for startups, scale-ups and innovation tech-teams, offering support, training and an interactive innovation space with unlimited opportunities for shared inspiration. Anyone from early-stage startups to those ready to accelerate and grow can take advantage of mentor programmes, investor networks, expert business support and more in a thriving entrepreneurial environment. This feeds the innovation district with ongoing innovation-thinking from unexpected places, and offers a starting point for welcoming, developing and testing pursuable ideas that might not otherwise have been recognised.
Mindpark
Mindpark is a workspace that has both co-working, meeting spaces and a community that prides itself on an international environment. With flexible meeting spaces and an eclectic mix of coworkers with global interests, local companies, professors, and students from the nearby Lund University Campus Helsingborg using the space, which means ideas are always in the air. The people-centred environment with its comfortable shared spaces is one of the longest run and most awarded co-working spaces in Sweden. Here they are hosting regular community and networking events to further the opportunities for both inspiration and valuable connections.”
Reco Lab
Helsingborg is ground zero for operational residential wastewater circularity thanks to RecoLab, an innovation centre with development facilities and exhibition spaces. RecoLab is also a testbed and live engineering experiment, having developed a fully functioning “3 pipe” residential wastewater system that reduces, reuses and recycles to protect one of our planet’s most precious resources. Testbeds can be both virtual and physical environments for testing, and Oceanhamnen is actively connected to RecoLab. All tenants have access to the technology, as do the locally-based expertise for potential collaborative project development and innovation.
Center for innovation
Center for Innovation – Parken houses the City of Helsingborg’s Innovation and Transformation Department, taking on the challenges of current and future social welfare innovations in Helsingborg and beyond. As a meeting place for everyone who drives change through innovation, Parken is where the municipality, business, and academia can meet and collaborate on solutions for the future. The city’s many innovation programmes are conceived, developed and managed from here, supporting cross-collaboration to address challenges in every city department through technology or innovative thinking.
