Entrepreneurship Evening Brings Together Global Talent and Local Expertise

Starting a business in a new country can be both exciting and challenging. Understanding the local business landscape, accessing the right support networks, and finding opportunities to connect with other entrepreneurs are often crucial first steps on the entrepreneurial journey.

To help bridge these gaps, Helsingborg Innovation District (HID) and Helsingborg International Connections launched Entrepreneurship Evening—a new recurring event designed to connect aspiring entrepreneurs, international talent, and business support organisations in Helsingborg.

The first edition took place at Parken and brought together an engaged and diverse audience for an evening focused on entrepreneurship, innovation, and collaboration.

Participants gained valuable insights into the entrepreneurial journey—from transforming early-stage ideas into viable businesses, to navigating incubator and accelerator programmes, accessing professional advisory services, and exploring funding opportunities.

Helsingborg has long been a city shaped by commerce, innovation, and international exchange. Thanks to its strategic location in the Öresund region, the city continues to attract talent from around the world and provide fertile ground for new ideas, entrepreneurship, and collaboration.

One of the highlights of the evening was the strong engagement from attendees. Throughout the sessions, participants contributed thoughtful questions and shared perspectives from a variety of professional and cultural backgrounds, creating an open and dynamic dialogue around entrepreneurship in Sweden.

The networking session that followed provided an opportunity for participants to continue conversations, exchange experiences, and build new connections. The atmosphere reflected the diversity and ambition that characterise Helsingborg’s growing innovation ecosystem, with people from across the globe coming together to explore future collaborations and opportunities.

Expert Perspectives from Across the Ecosystem

The evening featured contributions from several organisations that play a key role in supporting entrepreneurship and innovation in the region:

  • Zeynep Erdal, Helsingborg Innovation District
  • Sally Russel, Helsingborg International Connections
  • Aliya Sabir, HETCH
  • Philip Fransson, NyföretagarCentrum Skåne Nordväst
  • Trim Biba, Almi Syd
  • Karsten Deppert, E-commerce Park of Scandinavia

Together, the speakers provided practical guidance, shared experiences, and highlighted the support available to entrepreneurs at different stages of their journey.

Building an Inclusive Entrepreneurial Community

Entrepreneurship Evening is intended to become a recurring initiative, creating a welcoming platform where local and international talent can connect with the organisations, networks, and resources that help ideas grow into successful ventures.

By bringing together entrepreneurs, innovators, and support organisations, Helsingborg Innovation District and Helsingborg International Connections aim to strengthen the city’s entrepreneurial community and contribute to a more connected, innovative, and internationally attractive Helsingborg.
