Welcome to an anniversary lecture with researcher Hervé Corvellec, Department of Service Studies at Lund University.
Waste – a sign of wealth or poverty?
What does waste tell us about society? On the one hand, waste is a consequence of consumption. From the production, delivery and final use of the product. The richer we get, the more waste we produce. On the other hand, letting something go to waste is a lack of ingenuity. So much waste could have been used in other ways. It indicates a poverty of ideas. Waste manages the trick of symbolising one thing and its opposite. Wealth and poverty. How is this possible?
Welcome to a lecture designed to make you think critically about bins, containers, recycling centres and what you leave there.
Coffee with the researcher
After the lecture, coffee is offered with a beautiful view from the seventh floor of Campus Helsingborg, and the audience has the opportunity to talk further with the researcher.
