The City of Helsingborg and Halmstad University invite you to a hybrid seminar where researcher Robert Lundberg from Monash University will present his research on City Futures and his work with “Urban Pre-tours” – an ethnographic method for collecting visions of future cities.
In Robert’s presentation, you will learn about:

• the trends shaping the future of cities in Australia
• people’s expectations of everyday life in the cities of the future
• how people would like to live their lives in future urban environments

For you
Robert’s findings and methodology are particularly relevant for those interested in new ways of working with dialogue and stakeholder engagement in urban planning. Urban Pre-tours is a practical method that shifts the conversation from abstract ideas to concrete everyday scenarios, revealing values, priorities, tensions, and opportunities that are important for planning and societal development.

Robert is a postdoctoral researcher at the FUTURES Hub within Monash Emerging Technologies Research Lab. His research focuses on new interdisciplinary approaches needed to address pressing technological, environmental, and societal challenges. His work builds on his background in urban planning and smart cities.
