How do we create a society where products aren’t just consumed – but circulate, are reused, and generate long-term value?
The answer begins with Digital Product Passports (DPPs), one of the most powerful tools in the EU’s new regulatory framework. The new Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR), which came into effect in 2023, will impact all product categories placed on the EU market in the coming years.

By 2030, all products placed on the EU market must have a digital product passport – meaning the transition needs to start now. DPPs are not just data carriers; they are the key to enabling traceability, transparency, and smarter business models.

They connect a product’s origin, materials, climate impact, and usage – and make it possible to:

– Create value through repair, resale, and remanufacturing

– Build new services and circular business models

– Meet increasing demands for transparency and sustainability from both the market and legislation

In this interactive lecture, you’ll gain insights into:

– What digital product passports actually mean in practice

– How the technology behind them enables automation, efficiency, and compliance

– What trends and opportunities are emerging – for producers, investors, and innovators alike
